Compact/idea
Compact is an expandable system in multimedia. it-s based on a series of sampled loop-collections on 12-inch-vinyl-records which are used as modular tools for different kinds of projects.
Most important aspects of the work:
- collage/sequencing: this method has a long history in the classical arts. it means to take a part of a context and combine it with others in order to produce new stuff
- sampling: sampling is a term for quoting from music-history
- loop: a very old method used for producing dancemusic
- open source: compact is material which can be taken, transformed and changed in different ways. the compact-records can be purchased in dj-recordstores worldwide and can be combined with other endlessloop-records in order to create new songs, projects, dj-bands, etc -
