    In a small Bavarian village, my grandmother told me the legend of the Wolpertinger. These hybrid creatures fascinated me, but the Wolpertinger Museum in Mittenwald disappointed me with its amateurishly prepared animals.

    Thanks to AI image generators, I was later able to pursue my fascination with these chimeras with realistic images. I researched historical models and created my own designs. In doing so, I realised that AI primarily visualises clichés, but often appears astonishingly creative.

    However, AI cannot truly apply the principles of modern art, such as decomposition or chance. The end result is often difficult to understand and does not always match the original prompt.

  • The work on the animal chimeras shown here is essentially also a kind of remix. My approach is similar to my other collage-works.

    The Wolpertinger_artworks presented here are initial attempts... Some work is still needed for an exhibition. But the principle and aesthetics can be understood from the examples shown. To complement the exhibition, 3D-printed or CNC-milled Wolpertinger_sculptures could be added to complement the exhibition. However, this depends on the exhibition situation. The 3D-printed chimeras are monochrome and stylised.
